Hi, my name is Steve.
As
a kid my parents didn't have a television and as a result I spent most
of my waking hours exploring, fishing and just generally getting into
trouble outdoors with my brother. Some summer days we'd sit under a
tree and make up stories together. I would set the opening scene, he
would introduce the first character, I would describe something that
happened to him and that collaboration would continue for hours
sometimes.
I've
always loved stories which is probably why my favorite childhood
memories came on the first Saturday of each month when my father took my
brother and I to the movie theater in town. The smell of popcorn, the
wave of AC washing over me on those humid summer afternoons ... the
entire experience was magic.
These
days I still go out and get dirty when I can, but my brother lives on
the other side of the country. I watch movies more regularly and once a
month I connect with my brother on Skype and we watch a new movie
together that we downloaded online. If we don't like the ending,
sometimes we talk about how it should have ended.
These
days I have microwavable popcorn. I have a window-mounted AC unit. I
have a big television screen with wireless internet and I'm lucky to
have a close relationship with my brother even though we live so far
apart.
Online
movie downloads allow me to reconnect to the best part of my childhood
and I built this site to help people like me -- people who love to enjoy
quality movies during their quality time and who know that movies allow
us to forget about work and deadlines and responsibilities for a few
hours -- escaping to an easier time.
